HOW WE GOT HERE
Our History
The Glad Tidings Church, as it was to be called, would hold its first public assembly in a store front facility already rented at 155 Henry Street in Hempstead on February 11th, 1940. Kenneth Solberg, one of the founders, would be named the first pastor.

Today, our Sanctuary building has been expanded to accommodate our church class rooms and lobby area. Having capsulized the history of the physical development of the assembly we acknowledge the faithfulness of God, for indeed it is His work. We also recognize that physical growth without spiritual growth - is vanity! Every inch of progress every step and phase of development in the Kingdom of God is borne of steadfast prayer and intercession and spiritual motivation. We thank God for each of the Pastors, the spiritual motivators, each "man of the hour", building on the foundation laid in that home meeting on January 27th, 1940, and the greater foundation - which is Christ Jesus
Our Main Goal

Leadership
Juan Martinez III
Lead Pastor
Juan has 20 years of experience mentoring and influencing teenagers from all over the country. As a teenager, he got involved in unhealthy social settings that negatively affected his school life and his family life. His life was spiraling downhill but after a personal reawakening, he turned to his parents, teachers, and local leaders who then became the positive voices in his life that influenced and mentored him to begin the process of restoration and reconciliation that led him to be successful in his studies, his personal life, and eventual career path.
Juan and his wife Katelynn have experience serving students in local schools and reaching families in the community all over the United States and in Canada. Juan has also led multiple events for youth like youth conferences, community playground build, and has partnered with NFL players, like Anthony Munoz and the Anthony Munoz Foundation and Tim Tebow and the Tim Tebow Foundation. Juan has been a motivational speaker in school’s, local sports teams, and is a sought after speaker for youth events, retreats, camps, men’s retreats and churches.
Juan has a vision to reach the city and reach this generation of underserved youth in America and has a passion to impact young people in the foster care system, young people in juvenile detention centers and those who are overlooked or forgotten. Juan’s favorite thing’s to do is to go to a sporting event, travel, try a new restaurant, or play hours of pickleball. He has been married to his wife Katelynn for 17 years and they have 3 amazing children in Malachi, Elliani and Zoe.
